A great day with Matthew Rooney – forager and Carl Shillingford – cook took us round Arger Fen in Assington, Suffolk. I never knew wild garlic would taste so good, it’s not harsh like raw garlic in a bulb, this is a different member of the allium family.

Carl did a great demo later and made a wonderful soup from the wild garlic leaves
